Help TESPA Fight for
Our Water Rights

HaysCARD - CARDtalk

The beauty of our area, the value of our properties and our way of life will be damaged forever if our local springs and creeks stop flowing and our wells can no longer produce water.

The Trinity Edwards Springs Protection Association (TESPA) continues to lead in the fight against outside forces that right now are aiming to drain our groundwater from our aquifers. The fight is expensive; the other side has lots of lawyers and money. TESPA needs our continued help if it is going to protect us.

If you are uncertain what the fight is about, read this editorial by TESPA Board President Jim Blackburn which recently ran in many local publications, including the Wimberley View.

This coming weekend you can contribute to the fight by having fun at the Two-Step for TESPA dance, music and dinner at Montesino Ranch, right here in Wimberley.

  • Doors open at 5:30pm
  • Music opener: Erik Hokkanen
  • Dinner: 6:30 to 7:30pm
  • Music headliner: Two Tons of Steel

Tickets are $125 per person.

In the words of Jim Blackburn:

“Now is the time to fight and to send a message that groundwater in Hays County must be protected. Now is the time to fund TESPA’s efforts to stop large-scale groundwater projects that threaten our groundwater, to advocate for sustainable management of the Trinity Aquifer, and to represent the collective voice of landowners who want to ensure that their groundwater is conserved.”
